A police chase in west Atlanta left some people injured and several lanes of Interstate 20 blocked during rush hour on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, Georgia State Patrol troopers attempted to pull over a Dodge Charger for alleged reckless driving as it traveled westbound on I-20 around 5 p.m. After the driver allegedly refused to stop, a chase ensued.
While fleeing, the Charger allegedly struck a Nissan Rogue, causing it to overturn on its side just before Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Authorities said the driver of the Charger fled the scene of the crash.
Two people from the Nissan were transported to local hospitals and were in stable condition, according to police.
Authorities are still searching the area for the driver of the Charger.
