Two officers were injured in the shootout at Hooker and Linwood about a month ago. Pat Hill, who was struck in the head, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

"Prognosis is unknown at this point," said Sgt. Michael DiCicco. "We're all hopeful, we've seen some good signs but we're still very concerned about him. We hope he comes back to us soon."

Jim Bowens, who lost his son, DPD officer Matthew Bowens, helped organize the fundraiser.

"It's heartbreaking but we're receiving tremendous support for Patrick," Bowens said.

Volunteers are hoping to help ease the family's financial burden.
