Newspaper reporter tops worst job list, actuary named the best

If you're a newspaper reporter who moonlights as a lumberjack, congratulations, you have dabbled in America's two worst jobs, according to a new survey.

The career guidance web site CareerCast.com named the positions the worst in the country after they evaluated 200 professions across a wide variety of industries, skill levels and salary ranges to determine the best and worst jobs of 2013.

"The print model is not sustainable," says CareerCast.com's Paul Gillin."It will probably be gone within the next 10 years."

Here's a look at CareerCast.com's top 10 worst jobs:

1. Newspaper Reporter
2. Lumberjack
3. Enlisted Military Personnel
4. Actor
5. Oil Rig Worker
6. Dairy Farmer
7. Meter Reader
8. Mail Carrier
9. Roofer
10. Flight Attendant

As far as the best gigs go, the web site lists an actuary as the country's No. 1 job, especially for those skilled in mathematics and statistical analysis.
