MONTGOMERY, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police in west suburban Montgomery say a Chicago man was arrested last week after he stole nearly $11,000 worth of iPads and iPods from a store and tried to hide the goods in an empty child's toy package.

About 7:30 a.m. last Thursday, Michael Johnson, 25, was arrested in the 2000 block of Orchard Road in Montgomery for retail theft after he left a business there with $10,950 worth of Apple iPads and iPods concealed inside an empty child's toy package, police said.

Police did not specify the business but there is a T-Mobile and a Sprint store on that block.

No additional information was immediately available Tuesday.
