Police release sketch of suspect in string of robberies

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -

Police in Sandy Springs have released a sketch of a man who they say may be responsible for three robberies over a five day period.

Police say the first robbery occurred on April 9, when a man was robbed at the Extended Stay Hotel on Crestline Parkway. The next robbery occurred on April 13 when a man was robbed outside his home on Summer Drive.

The latest incident occurred on April 14, again on Summer Drive. According to police, a man was shot at the Parc at Perimeter Apartments in what they believe was a robbery. The victim is recovering at Grady Hospital.

Captain Steve Rose of the Sandy Springs Police Department says the victims all said the suspect pointed a silver handgun at them, which he used to shoot the victim on Sunday.

"One of things we're looking at is the possibility that he does live close, although we don't really know. It is one of the indicators when they pick two or three spots that are in such a small area," Rose said.

Investigators say the man stole credit cards, a big screen TV and other items.

The man is described as a thin black male with a medium to dark complexion, and is six feet tall.

Police urge anyone with information to call them at 770-551-6900.
