SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

It seems like living our daily lives is growing more dangerous every day. We have seen too many terrible things happen, like Monday's explosions at the Boston Marathon.

Of course, we cannot protect everyone all the time. However, we can still take precautions. Fox 2's Andrea Isom spoke with Sheriff Bouchard and Ned Timmons, President of L.S.S. Consulting and formerly with the FBI, on how you can keep yourself safe.

The simplest thing you can do is be aware of your surroundings as you go about daily activities. Call police when you see someone or something suspicious -- don't just keep walking and forget about it. For more tips, you can watch the full interviews above.
