8 injured in Humboldt Park crash

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Eight people were injured when two cars collided with a CTA bus early Sunday in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The crash happened at 5:28 a.m. at North Pulaski Road and West Chicago Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The collision occurred between two cars and a bus, said police News Affairs John Mirabelli.

An eastbound no. 66 Chicago bus was involved in the accident, CTA spokeswoman Tammy Chase said.

Eight people in fair-to-serious condition were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Norwegian-American Hospital, Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and Loretto Hospital, fire officials said.

Six of the injured included a CTA bus driver and five passengers, Chase said. Two passengers, one person from each car, were also injured.
