FedEx driver killed after truck overturns

ATLANTA -

A FedEx driver was killed after his truck overturned on Interstate 285 in northwest Atlanta on Thursday. The accident occurred just after 8 p.m. near Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, just north of Interstate 20.

According to Atlanta police, witnesses say the driver of the FedEx truck changed lanes from left to right and collided with a white Maxima driven by Orji Brown. Both vehicles slammed into the guardrail and ended up in a grassy area off the roadway.

They say the FedEx truck pulling twin trailers jackknifed and flipped over, coming to a rest on its side. The driver was not wearing his seat belt, and was partially ejected from the truck, say police.

Authorities say Brown, the driver of the Maxima, was taken to Grady Hospital with neck and back pain.

Police say no charges have been filed since the investigation continues.
