Final Four fans head home

Posted: Updated:

It was an incredible week in Atlanta for Final Four fans, but all good things must come to an end. Tired Louisville and Michigan, whether by car or plane, fans are heading out of town on Tuesday. The game ended late Monday night with Louisville coming out on top.

After the eruption inside the Georgia Dome with confetti, cheers, and even tears, fans poured outside, and Louisville fans were feeling good about the outcome.

"Today's game was awesome. Best game I've seen all Final Four. Both teams played great. Pulled out all the stops, Louisville just had the better team," said fan Auzzie Freeman.

On a normal day, Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson airport sees about 40,000 people fly out. They expect to see about 65,000 make their way through the gates on Tuesday.

Airport official Louis Miller says the huge increase in travelers is 100 percent due to Final four travelers leaving town. He says for the next eight to night hours a constant flow of people are expected at the airport.

For all who attended the Final Four, the weather was great, and Atlanta had a ton to do over the last four to five days. So whether you're a Michigan fan or a Louisville fan, most people will be leaving Atlanta with good memories.
