Hotel, office development planned where Novi Expo Center once stood

NOVI, Mich. (WJBK) -

Plans for a major hotel and office development where the Novi Expo Center once stood were detailed Wednesday morning.

WADL-TV CEO Kevin Adell plans to breath new life into the empty 25-acre lot, turning the land into a bustling new complex featuring a nationally known hotel chain, business offices and other mixed usage.

"It's going to bring a lot more customers to the area," said Tavan Hall, who lives near the site along Novi Road and I-96.

The land used to hold the 300,000-square-foot Novi Expo Center. It's event management company moved into the Suburban Collection Showplace eight years ago.

Adell plans to work the Burton-Katzman firm on the project.

Several hundred jobs are expected to be created during the construction.
