Hardcore Pawn's Seth Gold pulls an April Fool's prank

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

How much do you think a baseball signed by five legendary announcers is worth?

In April Fool's Day currency, it's worth around $12,000. Or that's what Hardcore Pawn's Seth Gold wanted Jason Carr to think during Monday's edition of The Nine.

Gold stopped by talk about his recent trip to Australia and appraise a few of the crew's favorite collectibles. Little did Jason know, Gold was in on a prank arranged by producers to make him think the ball, signed by Ernie Harwell, Paul Carey, Al Michaels, Tim McCarver and Jim Palmer was worth a whopping $12K.

"Did you know Al Michaels is not signing baseballs? He only signs footballs so this could be something actually worth a lot of money," said Gold.

"You're kidding," said Carr.

"Are you interested in selling it?" asked Gold, who offered $8,000 on the spot.

"He's putting me on the spot right here," said Carr, who tossed to a commercial break to mull the offer.

Amy Andrews, who knew about the prank, urged Jason to sell, while an unknowing Lee Thomas pleaded for Jason to hang on to the collectible.

"I say sell because it's a part of an April Fool's joke," chimed in producer Ed Pevos.

"You got me!" said Carr. "That was good! You sold that so well."

All's not lost on the signed baseball. Gold says it could fetch around $1,500 at auction.
