CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are asking for the public's help in finding two men who grabbed a 20-year-old woman on the West Side Friday night and tried to sexually assault her before she managed to escape.

At approximately 10 p.m., the two men, both of whom were wearing half ski masks, grabbed the woman from behind near the 2400 block of South Homan Avenue, an alert from Area Central detectives said.

The men carried her to the alley and attempted to perform a sex act on her when two other men approached and began arguing with the attackers. The victim was then able to escape, police said.

The two attackers were described as white Hispanic males with light complexions. One was about 5-feet, 4-inches tall, 130 to 140 ponds, wearing a black hooded sweater, blue baggy pants and black gym shoes. The other was described as 5-feet, 7-inches tall, 150- to 160 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweater, black baggy pants, and black gym shoes.

Anyone who may have information about this attempted assault is asked to contact Area Central detectives, at (312) 747-8380.
