CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

An Easter Egg hunt...for your dog? Time Out Chicago's Marissa Conrad has the scoop on that, a cooking demo from Stephanie Izard and the rest of what it takes to make your perfect weekend.

Friday

The city's getting Chicago babies hooked on culture early with its new music and performance series. Geared toward the "stroller set," the outings let parents and pre-kindergarten kids take in free family-friendly performances in music, dance and theater. In case you thought this was your typical assortment of handclapping, patty-cake feel-goodery, think again: The brainy but engaging artists' roster includes Spektral Quartet's humorous, interactive antics; accessible classical act Chicago Q Ensemble; theatrical and sculptural dance group RE | Dance Group; improvised jazz artist Jeff Parker; and more. [FREE] Juicebox Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E Washington St (312-744-6630, cityofchicago.org). 10am.

Saturday

Dogs are often used to help hunt rabbits, but today the two animals call it a truce. They'll pose together for a photo op and promenade in a bonnet parade. After these cruel acts, Fido will have much deserved his gathered treat-filled eggs. Owners must stay with their leashed dogs at all times and be 18 to attend. Refreshments will be served. Doggie Easter Egg Hunt Horner Park, 2741 W Montrose Ave (773-478-3499, chicagoparkdistrict.com). 10am–noon; $5 per dog.

Saturday

Heads up: The line at this cooking demo led by chef Stephanie Izard might be as long as a dinner wait at her Girl and the Goat restaurant. Izard's whipping up dishes made with rubs and sauces from her Flavor collection, which is available exclusively at Standard Market ($5.99–$9.99). She'll also sign copies of her book, "Girl in the Kitchen." [FREE] The Flavor Demo Standard Market, 333 E Ogden Ave (630-366-7030, standardmarket.com). 10am–noon.

Sunday

Kids are pretty fearless. They probably won't be the least bit terrified standing 1,353 feet above the earth on a glass balcony. Posing with the jumbo costumed rabbit and his fixed smile might cause discomfort, though. Photo ops included with breakfast. Registration required. Easter Breakfast at Skydeck Chicago Willis Tower Skydeck, 233 S Wacker Dr (312-875-9447, theskydeck.com). 8–11am; $60, kids ages 3–11 $25.
