LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) -
Don't you just love the sound of a club hitting a golf ball? The weather outside is cold and snowy, but Wednesday is officially spring and that means golf season is right around the corner.
"I've been waiting. This cold sucks," said Bob. "The more I watch golf on TV, the more that fever hits, and I'm just ready to get out here."
Many diehards who are getting ready for the season and the weather to turn are heading indoors now. Oasis Indoor Golf in Livonia give golfers like Bob a place to continue to practice through the cold weather no matter the distance.
Bob travels all the way from Jackson.
"Once a week until the season opens I'll be up here," he said.
Dan Thomas is a PGA golf pro. He coaches at Orchard Lake St. Mary's and Marion High School.
I asked him, "How important is it to keep your game in tune during the winter?"
"You see a clear difference between those who work year round and those who just train during the summer. So the students that do come out here and train... getting out here early and practicing makes a big difference," he said.
