CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A northwest suburban Bartlett man was ordered held in lieu of $350,000 bail Sunday after he was accused of stabbing a Metra police officer three times in the leg Saturday.
Caleb Pescetto, 22, has been charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer for the attack that allegedly took place after police noticed a group of males fighting outside the McDonald's restaurant at Union Station.
Police said they observed a man in a green sweatshirt, later identified as Pescetto, yell a gay slur at the others. He was urged to "please stop," and a patron said "he's got a knife."
Police said they tried to take Pescetto into custody, and that's when Pescetto allegedly stabbed a Metra officer in the right leg three times. A black three-inch folding knife was taken from Pescetto, police said, and a prosecutor said the whole incident was caught on camera.
