CHICAGO (Associated Press) -
An undercover vice officer investigating human trafficking fought off two men dressed as women who attacked him in a south suburban hotel room where he was supposed to meet a female escort.
The undercover member of the Cook County Sheriff's Vice Unit was scheduled to meet a female escort from a Backpage.com advertisement at the Red Roof Inn in the 2400 block of East 173rd Street in Lansing, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.
When the officer entered the hotel room he found two men dressed as women, police said. The men then attempted to rob the officer.
When the officer identified himself, the men locked the doors and physically attacked him, police said. The officer was able to fight off the attack and take both men into custody.
The officers= suffered a broken hand, and cuts and bruises to his body, police said.
Dominique Wilson, 26, of the 6900 block of South Cornell Avenue; and Devaul Killingsworth, 21, of the 1300 block of West 76th Street, both of Chicago, were charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, robbery, unlawful restraint and resisting arrest, police said.
