A new poll shows a shift in the wants of working mothers. The Pew Research Center said there's a big spike in the amount of women who want full-time jobs.

The survey said that 37% of working mothers want full-time work now, compared to just 21% in 2007.

That study also looked at the amount of time moms and dads spend working each week, which is now equal.

Men still spend more of their time doing paid work. However, the amount of time they help out around the house has increased to ten hours a week versus just four hours in the 1960s.

Moms still do more around the house, but their time has been cut as well - down to 18 hours from 32. Meantime, mothers spend 14 hours a week on child care - which is twice as much as dads. Moms are devoting an average of 21 hours at work, compared with the eight hours their mothers spent.

So is this creating stress at home? Pew researchers said yes. Apparently Americans agree, with only 16% of U.S. adults saying that having a full-time working mother is a good thing.

Less than half of working parents said they have a good work-life balance. One-third of parents don't think they spend enough time with their kids. About 56 percent of working mothers and half of working dads said juggling their home and family lives is difficult.
