Light snow, icy roads snarl morning commute in metro Detroit

DETROIT (WJBK) -
Light snow and below-freezing temperatures combined to create icy conditions on roads in parts of metro Detroit.
FOX 2's Kevin Sanderson reports several traffic accidents related to slippery roads on Wednesday morning, including one involving numerous semi-trucks that closed the I-275 northbound ramp to I-96 east closed.
Others accidents had the I-75 northbound ramp closed at I-696 east. Sanderson says the Southfield Freeway (M-39) was also closed in both directions at Michigan Avenue due to several accidents. It has since reopened to traffic.
Salt trucks are on the road to help make driving conditions safer.
Weather Authority Alan Longstreet says scattered snow showers will remain with us through the morning, however no significant accumulation is expected.
