Sequester forces Thunderbirds to drop Air & Water Show

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The sequester has grounded one of the most popular acts at the Chicago Air and Water Show.

The Air Force Thunderbirds say they've had to pull out of the show because of the federal budget cuts.

The military has cancelled air shows and fly-overs that aren't part of combat readiness, but officials say if the sequester is resolved, the F-16s could still be in Chicago this summer.

Officials with the Chicago office of special events say the air show will fly -- with or without the Thunderbirds.
