Ford Motor Co. has issued a recall on several 2013 models due to possible faulty child safety locks on rear doors.

The Dearborn automaker says the locks may have been installed improperly because a supplier sent the wrong parts. Vehicles included in the recall are some 2013 Ford Focus, C-Max and Escape vehicles. Ford says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries.

The recall cover more than 5,600 vehicles in the U.S. and 859 in Canada. Ford discovered the problem in November and halted shipment of the vehicles from its Wayne facility.

Ford Focus, Escape and C-Max hybrid owners can contact Ford at 866-436-7332 or visit the Ford Recall Notices web site. Concerned drivers may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or online at www.safercar.gov.
