Suspects robbing women at knifepoint in Washington Park: Alert

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two men robbed women at knifepoint last month in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood.

The suspects approach the women, display a knife and demand money and other items, according to an alert from Area Central detectives.

The robberies occurred at 12:05 a.m. Feb. 3 in the 5600 block of South Wabash Avenue and at 4:59 p.m. Feb. 16 in the 5400 block of South Wentworth Avenue, the alert said.

The suspects are described as black men, between 50 and 60 years old, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-9, the alert said.

One suspect is between 175 and 185 pounds and the other is 130 to 150 pounds, the alert said.
