SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -
Calling it a "sad day," Governor Rick Snyder declared Detroit to be "in financial emergency" Friday. The mayor and city council have ten days to appeal his decision. The governor could then appoint an emergency manager after a hearing later this month.
On a special edition of "Let It Rip", Governor Snyder gave us more detail about what he did and why.
If an EM is appointed, will the council and the mayor still have jobs? Will they have any input? Plus, what are his priorities as the state essentially begins a takeover of Detroit.
Joining Huel Perkins and the governor on our panel were Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Charlie LeDuff and Fox 2 legal analyst and "Let It Rip Weekend" host Charlie Langton.
