Man fatally shot in his car at Detroit gas station - Chicago News and Weather | FOX 32 News

Thursday night, a man was shot and killed in front of B.J. Mallah's Sunoco on Six Mile and Greenfield just before midnight.  Police say the victim was found dead inside his car.

"It's a shame how it's going," said Mallah.  "We complain, we make a report, and [sometimes] we call the police [and] nobody [shows] up."

Investigators are looking at surveillance video from a nearby business.  So far there is no description of a suspect.

Mallah says thugs often hang around a bus stop on Six Mile pretending they're waiting for the bus when they're really waiting to rob his customers.

We're told the victim's car was a newer model Buick with Mississippi plates.  His identity has not been released.

"Do you feel like you're in danger here?" I asked Mallah.

"Yes, I do," he said.

Mallah says thieves have gotten so bold they steal things right off his shelves, and that is why some shelves are empty.  He'd like to move, but he can't afford to close his business of 20 years.

"My store, right now, [there is a] robbery every single day," he said.  "Two guys, they come in, one of them [holds] the door, the other one [takes] the stuff."

"We're trying to do [a] service for the customer as best we can, but, unfortunately, there [are] a lot of [days] I don't want to come to work," he added.
