Little Village businesses warned of escalating robberies: Alert

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
Police on Tuesday issued an alert to businesses in the Little Village neighborhood warning them of two similar robberies that have taken place in the last two weeks.
In both incidents, the offenders - described as black males between 30 and 35 - enter a business wearing gloves and either a mask or sunglasses, while armed with a handgun, then announce a robbery.
Robberies have happened in the 3900 block of West 26th Street about 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 12; and in the 3500 block of West Cermak Road about 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, the alert said.
One of the robbers was between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, and 170-200 pounds; while the other was about 5-foot-11 and 170-200 pounds with a pockmarked face.
