ATLANTA (AP) - An Atlanta rapper has been found not guilty of murder in the 2011 shooting death of a rival musician.
Vinson Hardimon, who uses the name Young Vito, appeared in Fulton County Superior Court Monday. Hardimon was convicted of aggravated assault and weapons charges, and a judge sentenced him to 25 years in prison.
Hardimon was arrested in the December 2011 shooting death of Mario Hamilton, known as Slim Dunkin. Authorities say 24-year-old Hamilton was shot after an altercation at an East Atlanta recording studio.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/VBVBCc ) reports that while awaiting trial in the Slim Dunkin case, 30-year-old Hardimon pleaded guilty to an aggravated assault charge stemming from an incident involving a gun in April 2011.
