Subway work sends Red Line trains above ground

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

The CTA is keeping southbound Red Line trains above ground this weekend, as work is done on the subway downtown.

Red Line trains headed in the direction of 95th Street are being rerouted to remain above ground between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown so work can be done on the subway downtown, according to a CTA rider alert.

The reroute began at 11 p.m. Friday and was scheduled to last until 4 a.m. on Monday.
