Twitter fans, you can help donate just by tweeting throughout the day. For each tweet that uses the #BedandBread hash tag, the Ford Motor Company Fund has pledged to donate $3, up to $25,000.
The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit and News/Talk 760 WJR-AM are hosting the 26th annual Bed & Bread Club radiothon today from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. at Oakland mall in Troy (address below). The Bed & Bread program provides more then 5,000 meals per day for those in need throughout metro Detroit. More than 400 people per night have found shelter through the Bed & Bread program.
All proceeds from the radiothon go directly to help feed and shelter metro Detroiters in need. Special guest Dick Purtan will also be joining the broadcast. Purtan is the chairman of the Bed & Bread Club and a retired Detroit radio Hall of Fame personality.
The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit's Bed & Bread Club Radiothon is the largest single-market, single-day radio fundraiser in the country. Since its launch in 1988, the Radiothon has raised more than $26.8 million to help those in need.
