CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
On Thursday's Chat Room, Sun-Times Splash Editor Susanna Negovan and Consultant Rochelle Trotter discuss the fall of Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife Sandi, and flawed birth control responsibility.
Jesse Jackson Jr - a once proud, promising congressman - was reduced to a crying, whimpering criminal in court. Do you buy his emotions? Is it all an act? Will his apologies convince the judge to lower the sentence? What will Sandi do?
Susanna feels really sorry for the couple as they grew up in the world of corrupt Chicago politics. Rochelle disagrees, stating that this is a huge personal disappointment for the African-American Community given the struggles for equality of position in politics.
The ladies also discussed a recent lawsuit where a woman in Kansas is suing the manufacturer of her birth control pills for child support because she got pregnant whole using their product.
Susanna thinks the company does bear some liability, although birth control is only 99% effective even when taken correctly. Rochelle said the only sure birth control is no sex!
