Pianist Jade Simmons to perform at Sphinx finals concert

The 16th annual Sphinx finals concert for young black and Latino string players takes place Sunday, February 17. Students from around the country come to the Orchestra Hall to compete throughout the week.

Sphinx artists have made more than 250 solo appearances with orchestras around the country. Over the past 16 years, Sphinx artists have engaged 100,000 young people in schools and reached 5 million in broadcast audiences.

Guest pianist for the finals concert, Jade Simmons, will be performing at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 17.

The performance is at the Max M. Fisher Music Center. Tickets are $10 - 25. The Max. M Fisher Music Center is located at 3711 Woodward Ave. in Detroit.
