No damage in explosion outside Cartersville movie theater

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -

An explosion rattled nerves but didn't cause any damage at a Cartersville movie theater on Thursday.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office says a small plastic bottle-type explosive blew up in a garbage can outside the Carmike 12 on Tennessee Street.

No one was hurt, but the fire department was called out as a precaution.

The theater was reopened a short time later.
