SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

From 1988 to 2013, Die Hard fans are happy to see Bruce Willis back with "A Good Day to Die Hard" -- the fifth film in the franchise -- and this 57-year-old star seems happier than ever.

"Now you just seem happy.  Are you in a good place and what's your mode right now when it comes to all the accolodaes you're getting?" I asked him.

"It's always nice to get accolodaes, and I was honored last night with a huge mural on the Fox lot.  Those kind of things make me smile.  They make me happy.  I have a great family, great daughters.  I have a great wife.  I have a new baby, and it just allows me to not take things so seriously," he answered.

"What has your mode been or philosophy you've used to help you achieve such high success?" I also asked.

"I think that what I like to do is compete with myself.  I don't feel like I compete with other actors.  Everybody has their own line of work and everybody's doing well with it, and I just compete with myself.  I try to do a little bit better every time.  I try to apply myself.  I try to choose different things to keep myself happy," Willis responded.

"It's just amazing to me that I'm still in this great job, in this career that has flown by, the time has flown by.  I still can't explain how it even happened to me.  All this good fortune that I've been blessed with is truly a remarkable thing," he added.
