SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
An Illinois man is suing the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg and two former policemen, alleging the ex-officers illegally searched his property and stole more than $2,000 from his grandmother's home.
Altom had faced drug charges, but a judge ruled officers did not have probable cause to make the search and the charges were dropped.
The two former officers, Matthew Hudak and Terrance O'Brien, were arrested in January on charges they stole drugs seized by police and worked with an informant to resell them.
Their attorneys could not be reached for comment.
Schaumburg Village Manager Ken Fritz said the village had not received a copy of the lawsuit.
