A 30-year-old West Side man was expected for a hearing Wednesday after being charged with the sexual assault of a woman in her West Garfield Park neighborhood home last October.
The assault occurred about 2 a.m. on Oct. 9, 2012, in the woman's home in the 4100 block of West Wilcox Street, according to police.
The victim, a 33-year-old woman, was asleep at the time, but awakened to discover that she was being sexually assaulted by a man who was lying on top of her, police said. The victim shouted out and her attacker ran from the scene.
Once they had a suspect identified, officers with the CPD's Fugitive Apprehension Unit worked with the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force to find the suspect, Anthony Wilson, who was taken into custody in Chicago without incident, police said.
Wilson, of the 1200 block of North Austin Boulevard, was arrested on two warrants and charged with one count of criminal sexual assault, according to police.
