There is gambling in the Vatican and nothing discreet about it. Irish bookies are working in Saint Peter's Square where some people are betting more than $100,000 on who will be the next pope.
There's a pretty long list of cardinals thought to be in the running, but so far the bookies say the big money is on Cardinal Marc Ouellet, 68, of Quebec. Another favorite is Cardinal Francis Arinze, 80, of Nigeria. Close to a dozen other men are being talked about.
The College of Cardinal--the world's top prelates--will elect one of their own to be the next pope.
