A Roswell father accused of kidnapping his two young sons was granted bond by a Fulton County judge on Monday. Daniel Cleary, 46, is accused of kidnapping his sons Benjamin and Henry in late December, and was arrested days later in Texas.
FOX 5's Kaitlyn Pratt reports that Cleary was granted a $40,000 bond -- $20,000 for each count. He faces two counts of interference with custody. The judge ordered Cleary to wear an ankle bracelet, and he is to have no contact with his children or their mother. If any part of the bond is violated, it will be revoked.
Authorities say they two boys were on a trip with their father to Chattanooga when they failed to return as scheduled. The mother, Teresa Nash, found Cleary's house cleaned out, and phone lines disconnected.
An amber alert was soon issued. The three were spotted at a store in Tennessee, and found days later in a Texas hotel after a viewer recognized them from national TV coverage. Cleary was arrested, and eventually extradited back to Georgia.
