55th annual Grammy Awards fashion risks, controversial stars: Chat Room

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

On Monday's Chat Room Sun-Times Splash Editor and Lifestyle consultant Rochelle Trotter spoke on all things Grammy.

First up - Did they get the memo?

Of course, stars showed up looking sexy at Sunday night's Grammy Awards, despite the CBS crackdown on showing skin. From Kelly Rowland's barely there dress to Katy Perry "peep show," what were they thinking?

Susanna thinks that over the years the Grammys have always shown women trying to one up each other in terms of dress. She was pleasantly to see so many beautiful gowns Sunday night.

Rochelle stated the stars are simply reflecting parts of their brand - and whether we like it or not their dress is a huge part of the sell. She said CBS is hypocritical when a huge part of their network promotes sexiness - they air the Victoria Secret Fashion show for heavens sake!

Richard Marx's tweet about "risqué clothing being banned, but not guys who beat women" also generated a lot of viral chatter. He's referencing Chris Brown, who assaulted girlfriend Rihanna, but seems to be celebrated by the Grammys.

Susanna thinks its unfortunate that Chris Brown just keeps finding himself in trouble whether or not its with not doing his community service or fights! She is just not sure now a network could censor an entertainer out of a show.

Rochelle thinks his tweet was on point! A network or event shouldn't glorify abuse in any manner. Not sure how we could have entertainment if every abuser was vetted out - but some sort of process could be developed to give these abusers less airtime at award events.
