ATLANTA (AP) - Emory University has announced that singer-songwriter Paul Simon has to postpone an appearance because of illness.

Simon was supposed to be on campus Sunday through Tuesday for the Richard Ellmann Lectures in Modern Literature. His representatives told the school Simon has the flu.

Emory says it anticipates being able to reschedule the lectures at a later time.

Simon was to talk in part about the history that led up to the music between 1966 and 1970.

Simon has won 12 Grammys and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his work both as a solo artist and with folk duo Simon and Garfunkel. He has been inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist and for his work with Art Garfunkel.
