February 7: Winter Weather Advisory for Chicago

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Cook, Dupage, De Kalb, Lake and McHenry counties until this 9 p.m. Thursday evening. Snowfall amounts will range from 1-3" along with some higher amounts near the Wisconsin border.

Snow, sleet, and freezing rain developed by the pre-dawn hours Thursday, mainly in the northern counties and are spreading south and east into the Chicago metro.

The rest of Chicago will see a changeover to all snow later Thursday evening with up to 1" of snow with lighter amounts to the south.

Precipitation will come to end early Thursday night with gradual clearing by early Friday morning.

A fairly quiet stretch of weather is likely Friday and Saturday with highs in the mid-30s.

By Sunday, temperatures warm into the 40s with rain likely.

Thursday: Cloudy with a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, & rain. Highs: 32-37 Lows: 20-25

Friday: Mostly sunny and cool. Highs: 30-35 Lows: 22-27

Saturday: Partly sunny and mild. Highs: 35-40 Lows: 28-33

Sunday: Showers likely and very mild. Highs: 40-45 Lows: 33-38

Monday: Mostly cloudy and colder with a few snow showers early. Highs: 30-35 Lows: 20-25

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and colder. Highs: 27-32 Lows: 18-23

Wednesday: Partly sunny and seasonal. Highs: 30-35 Lows: 20-25
