ATLANTA -

It's Wednesday, and that means American Idol night on FOX 5. Tonight, the gang heads to Hollywood where the hard work really begins.

Thousands try out, a dozen will share the stage but only one will become the next American Idol. That means many young singers will feel the sting of rejection this season.

What's it like to walk in front of four famous faces and sing your heart out, hoping for a shot at stardom?

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken says Atlanta vocal coach Tara Simon, knows the feel of that sting. The X Factor alum says for her, every little bit of criticism was worth it.
