IRS offers free tax help through United Way's 2-1-1 phone number

(WJBK) -- An IRS spokesman says free tax help through partners is available for a number of people this tax season.
Luis Garcia says those making under $51,000 a year can call the United Way at 2-1-1 to be connected with free, IRS-certified assistance. Those 60 and older can contact AARP for free tax help as well.
Also, Garcia says the IRS will never send you an unsolicited email asking for personal information. His advice? Do not open those emails, and instead, delete them.
