Police: Two recent armed robberies on one Hyde Park block

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
Police are warning residents in the South Side Hyde Park neighborhood about an increase in armed robberies.
During two recent incidents, two men with a blue semiautomatic handgun robbed victims in the 0-100 block of East 55th Street, according to a community alert issued by Area Central detectives.
They are described as black men between 17 and 22 years old, wearing dark clothing, the alert said. One of the men had dreadlocks.
Police are asking residents to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity.
