CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A Humboldt Park woman who allegedly drove off after fatally striking a man and a woman changing a tire has been charged with felony DUI in connection with the Saturday crash.
Delia Aguila, 27, was charged with two counts of felony aggravated DUI causing death in connection with the crash in the 3800 block of West 87th Street, according to police News Affairs.
Police claim Aguila was driving a 1995 Nissan Quest westbound on 87th Street about 10:45 p.m. when she hit a 39-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman changing a tire.
She allegedly continued driving, but witnesses helped police to locate her and the minivan a couple of blocks away, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
William Brunson, of the 8000 block of South Harper Avenue, and Victoria R. Means, of the 14000 block of South School Street in Riverdale, were dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Aguila, of the 900 block of North Lawndale Avenue, was also charged two counts of DUI, reckless driving and driving without ever having been issued a license -- all misdemeanors.
She was further cited for driving without insurance, having alcohol in the vehicle, and failing to render aid, keep inside her lane or reduce her speed.
Aguila is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing Tuesday.
