ANN ARBOR, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -

Emergency crews in Ann Arbor braved a dangerous fire Sunday night to rescue several people from an engulfed apartment building on Packard Street.

Fox 2 has learned several police officers were treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. It started in a small apartment building that houses six separate dwellings.

Crews battled the blaze for nearly an hour before finally getting it under control. Several residents had to be rescued, and at least one person was seriously trapped.

Thankfully, officials tell Fox 2 there were no fatalities. We have not received word yet on the condition of those who were injured.

Crews are still on the scene, trying to determine the cause. We're told the Red Cross has been requested to help with displaced residents.
