CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Several people were arrested when a large fight broke out during a basketball game at a Far South Side high school Friday night.

The game, at Corliss High School in the 800 block of East 103rd Street, had to be canceled after the "large" fight started, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

Corliss was playing South Shore High School when the fight began, Greer said. Police responded and made several arrests for minor offenses, though details on charges and on what sparked the brawl were not yet available.

Area South detectives are investigating.
