ATLANTA -

A local fourth grader was honored on Tuesday for his work at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Cody Jackson says he goes to the airport twice a month to greet soldiers as they come home.

Congressman Tom Price honored Jackson for his patriotism.

Cody has personally thanked more than 13,500 soldiers. He's written two books and is working on a third that teach kids how to be patriotic.

Money from the books goes toward care packages he sends troops.

Cody says he would like to be a Marine.

Prosecutors considered him their key witness, a longtime Gwinnett developer given immunity to spill what he knew about corruption inside county government. David Jenkins testified before a Gwinnett grand jury in 2010. He also met multiple times with prosecutors. Those interviews were videotaped. Four years later, prosecutors agreed to a no contest plea bargain with former commissioner Kevin Kenerly on one count of bribery. He will serve 10 years on probation and pay a $10,000 fine.
