Health officials look to curb smoking with hefty taxes

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Health officials there are pushing for new taxes that could drive the price of cigarettes up to $20 a pack.

Under the proposal, taxes on cigarettes would be raised every year for the next five years.

Officials say it is part of a program to protect the public health.
