Pope names new auxiliary bishop for Atlanta

ATLANTA -

Pope Benedict XVI has named Monsignor David Talley the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

The 62-year-old will be ordained at Christ the King Cathedral on April 2.

Until then, Talley will continue to serve as pastor of Saint Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek.

The Atlanta Archdiocese serves more than one million Catholics in north Georgia.
