Police make arrest in murder of dealership employee

SWAT units surrounded an apartment in southeast Atlanta on Sunday morning.
The scene on Friday morning at the Carriage Mitsubishi located on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville where police say an employee was killed during a robbery attempt.

Gainesville police say they arrested a man they believe
shot and killed an employee of a Mitsubishi dealership on Friday morning. The arrest came after a standoff at a southeast Atlanta apartment that lasted several hours.
Mark Antonio Taylor II, 21, of Atlanta, was arrested and charged in connection to the shooting death of 42-year-old Charles Weaver. Weaver, whom police say worked in the service department, was shot and killed during an apparent robbery attempt at Carriage Mitsubishi located on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville on Friday morning.
An alert citizen called police after spotting the truck and recognized it from news reports. Investigators say they found evidence inside which led them the apartments.
Police say Taylor and three other individuals were inside that apartment which police surrounded for several hours Sunday morning. They eventually surrendered to police without further incident. The names of those individuals were not released.
Taylor will be charged with Murder, Armed Robbery, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of a Firearm. He was booked in the Hall County Jail where he is expected to remain without bond.
The dealership was offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for Weaver's murder.
