California media company interested in buying Tribune

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A media company in California is expressing interest in buying the Chicago Tribune.

The CEO of "Freedom Communications" said he'd like to look into a possible deal to buy the Trib, the L.A. Times, and the Tribune Company's six other newspapers.

Freedom owns the "Orange County Register."

The tribune company is still in bankruptcy. Crain's Chicago is reporting the Tribune Company will come out of bankruptcy in the next few weeks.
