Group of friends bring holiday cheer with Christmas run

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A group of friends in Wisconsin bring some holiday cheer to their town with an unusual Christmas tradition--they dress up like Santa Claus and his elves and run throughout out the town.

The run is a holiday tradition the group has been doing for five years. They say the six mile run is intended to bring some holiday cheer to people who pass by.

"We're having a good time. Everybody honks away," one of the runners says. "At least 5 people pulled over to take pictures."

"It's fun to watch people who are coming home and they're stressed from Christmas Eve and Christmas shopping and all of a sudden they do a double take and maybe it takes their mind off of it for a few minutes," says another.

The group warns anyone who hasn't shoveled and salted their sidewalk is added to Santa's naughty list.
